Making a house a home

Making a house a home. No, making an apartment more than a just a living ‘space.’

When it comes to your first apartment- how do you make an apartment a home? Or do you make it ’homey’? Which is the correct word?

Well, this was a project I loved, and it’s still an ongoing process. It’s one of those things that brings so much joy into my life. The art of decorating. And the art of decorating a space you worked so hard for. Your own little piece of heaven.

So, the day I moved into my apartment, my first question was: How do you combine tastes? The struggle was surely very real, because I had to combine my feminine, modern taste with Donovan’s masculine and yet rustic taste. Luckily, both of us had classic and ‘simplicity is key’ taste. Starting with the basics first and choosing neutral colours to work with, we started building our little home, piece by piece.

One thing we agreed on was our newest addition to our love of house decorating, or apartment decorating rather, was our fabulous Bean bags. Oh my word, when we got them I was so shocked at the family and adult size bean bags we ordered, and the COMFORT was unbelievable. It’s like another bed. We have three beds in our apartment now, I am not kidding.

The Bean Bag’s been in business since 2012, a young but determined company! They offer generous sizes, resilient lightweight foam filling, washable outer covers and luxurious fabrics!

A beanbag is not only about the cover, it’s about the filling! After all, it’s the comfort we are all after. Their bags are filled with newly manufactured flexible polyurethane foam chips. (Yup, you didn’t think they were filled with beans right?!)

If you believe comfort is key, you need one of these babies in your life. It brings a whole new element of ‘stylish comfort’ into your home.
